Pharmacy Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Hospital Pharmacy Manager to join a busy Northern Territory hospital on a short-term locum basis. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with Oncology and specialist clinical experience who is ready to lead a small team while providing high-quality patient care across multiple areas of the hospital.


Key Responsibilities:

• Dispensary Management: Oversee supply, PBS compliance, and system processes using Merlin Dispensing Software and MOSAIQ.
• Clinical Services: Provide medication advice, reviews, and direct patient care across wards including Oncology, Haematology, Paediatrics, Renal, Emergency, and outpatient specialist clinics.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and manage a clinical pharmacist and two pharmacy assistants.
• Education: Train pharmacy staff and provide education to nursing and medical teams.
• Quality & Safety: Conduct audits, reporting, medication safety initiatives, and service improvements.
• Strategic Contribution: Represent pharmacy in hospital-wide meetings and initiatives.

Essential Requirements:

• Registered Pharmacist with AHPRA.
• Oncology experience essential, plus experience in Haematology, Paediatrics, Renal, Vaccines, and specialist clinics.
• Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to provide direct patient care and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• NT immunisation requirements, Working with Children Check, and criminal history screening.
• Services extend across Paediatric, Oncology, Medical, and Emergency wards
